Yoga, hiking and glamping: Ocean Park sets eyes on outdoor enthusiasts
Glamping tickets for a new round of Green Staycation in Ocean Park are already 90 percent sold, the park says.
With HSBC Life Well+ being this year's title sponsor, the Green Staycation will be held between November 7 and December 18, in which visitors can attend yoga classes, go hiking and enjoy a two-day, one-night camping trip at the summit.
Noting that last year's Green Staycation received "awesome feedback," the park's chairman, Lau Ming-wai, said: "We expect this to be just as popular, and tickets to be quickly sold out in the near future."
He also said the park has attracted many visitors in previous Halloween events.
"October 30 and 31 saw the most visitors coming to the park this year," he said.
Ocean Park has brought back the "Starry Summit Yoga Glamping" this year, in which glampers can meet and greet animal ambassadors, as well as practice yoga in the three designated classes: Vinyasa yoga, Tibetan singing bowls and morning stretching.
The package, which costs HK$6,888, includes two-day park admission for four people, Ocean FasTrack passes on the first day, as well as dinner and breakfast sets.
Yogis can choose among the 13 types of yoga classes offered by the park’s program Yoga Vogue, including the new addition of inversion yoga. They can also unwind and search for their inner peace in the park’s aquarium, enjoy the underwater world while meditating to music played by instructors as seals and with thousands of fish surrounding them.
Each yoga session will last for 45 minutes to an hour. The price for yoga packages ranges from HK$320 to HK$420, which includes an admission ticket and a HK$30 e-cash voucher. The price is the same for adults and children.
Meanwhile, those who enjoy hiking can opt for the Brick Hill Secret Unveil, in which trekkers get to walk along the Nam Long Shan trail and enjoy the stunning views of the South China Sea.
Led by staffers of the park, walkers can take a two-hour leisurely stroll, during which they can enjoy the seascape as well as learning fun facts of the park.
Visitors will also get a chance to visit the Hong Kong Marine Life Stranding and Education Centre to learn about the advanced equipment used for rescuing, studying and dissecting marine animals, as well as marine conservation programs.
The hiking trips, which will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, cost HK$400 for an adult and HK$280 for a child. Those who hold SmartFun annual passes or InFUNity entry passes will pay only HK$200 for an adult and HK$140 for a child for the program.
