Woof woof! Rescue dogs praised by CE for saving lives in Turkey earthquake
Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu hosted a special banquet for three search and rescue dogs in the Government House on Sunday, praising their contribution to the Turkey earthquake's rescue works.
Three English Springer Spaniels, named Umi, Uma, and Twix, were welcomed by the city's leader on the grass yard this morning after Umi and Twix took part in saving four survivors last month in Turkey.
Showing in a picture posted on his social media platform, Lee fed the three small-size rescue team members running happily on the grass with snacks.
He added that the rescue dogs accomplished the mission and showed gratitude to all the trainers and dogs.
"Around 340 dogs are serving in Hong Kong's disciplined services," Lee said, "They assist our officers in various enforcement duties including patrol, drug detection, rescue and search."
