Woman hospitalized after being attacked by ex in child custody row
A 55-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital after she was attacked with a hammer by her ex-husband in a fight over the custody of their son in Tin Shui Wai on Tuesday morning.
The fight occurred around 7.30am today in a flat at Kingswood Villas in Tin Shui Wai as the woman surnamed Yeung and her ex-husband, 54, got into a heated argument over custody of their son. It is understood that the former couple lives separately.
The argument soon escalated into a fight, and the ex-husband attacked Yeung with a hammer and verbally threatened her before fleeing the scene.
Yeung sustained an injury to her hands. She then sought help from the building's security guard and reported it to the police. She was later admitted to Tin Shui Wai Hospital in a conscious state.
Police listed the case as an assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal intimidation.
So far, no one has been arrested. The case is now handled by the Yuen Long district crime squad.
