A woman was arrested for animal abuse after her white cat fell from height and hit a Benz before it rebounded onto the ground. The cat was pronounced dead on the spot.
The incident occurred around 9.53 am today (Sat) when the
Mercedes Benz was passing by Hennessy Road in Wan Chai.
Cops were later called to the scene and covered the white cat’s body in a cardboard box and a black plastic bag.
The female owner also arrived at the scene to learn what happened and exchanged contact with the male driver, promising she would compensate him for the damage done to the car.
The driver said he was turning left and going to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at the time.
“It is really a tragedy! The cat was beautiful and had nice fur. I was scared too. I hope the cat wasn’t thrown off the building from above because of an argument,” he said.
He also added that the owner is responsible for taking care of the cat and ensuring it can’t just jump out of the window.
He noted he has to wait for the police investigation before claiming insurance for his car.
