William Tam named to lead DOJ's prosecution division
William Tam Yiu-ho was named to be the acting director of public prosecution, leading the subdivision of the Department of Justice.
However, Tam was still listed as deputy director of public prosecutions(I) on the telephone directory of the Government of the HKSAR and related organizations.
The previous director of Public Prosecutions, David Leung Cheuk-yin, SC, formally resigned on July 31, leaving the division after working for 25 years. His last working day at the division was yesterday.
Leung said in an email that he could not agree with the Secretary of Justice, and that the situation has not improved over time, which is not conducive to the smooth operation of the division.
