A "water taxi" ferry service will operate on a trial basis from July 3 onwards, the Transport Department announced today.
During the trial operation, one departure of the short-working route will operate at 7.20pm on Saturdays from Hung Hom (South) Ferry Pier.
Calling points will be provided at Tsim Sha Tsui Landing No. 1 and Central Pier No. 9, allowing passengers to hop on and off. The full journey time is approximately 70 minutes.
The adult full fare of the short-working route is HK$48, while the fares for each section are HK$10 for the Hung Hom - Tsim Sha Tsui East section and HK$14 for the Tsim Sha Tsui East - Central section. A half fare concession will be provided for children, the elderly and persons with disabilities.
To celebrate the 24th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the operator will operate a special departure on July 1 from Hung Hom (South) Ferry Pier at 7.20pm.
The Transport Department said the "water taxi" service is mainly of a sightseeing and tourism nature, with passengers able to enjoy the spectacular night scene of Victoria Harbour and "A Symphony of Lights" during the journey.
