Victim's stepson wanted for chainsaw murder in Yuen Long
Police identified the suspect in the brutal chainsaw murder of a woman in Yuen Long as the deceased's stepson. He was said to have fled Hong Kong.
The 54-year-old disfigured victim, surnamed Lau, was found lying in blood on the sidewalks at Yuen Long Kam Pok Road East on Saturday. She had suffered stab wounds in her neck and back and was declared dead at the scene.
The officers combed through the security footage and identified the suspect as the victim's 41-year-old stepson surnamed Leung, who had already fled Hong Kong.
Leung had been feuding with the victim since her remarriage to his father 30 years ago, police added.
Sources have pointed out that Leung had premeditated the murder as he had booked a flight for escape beforehand.
