Vet calls police after Maltese dog dies from unusual wounds
Police are investigating the cause of death of a Maltese dog as a vet in Ho Man Tin suspected it had been suffering from abuse.
A 10-month-old female Maltese was taken to the Veterinary Specialty Hospital at Liberty Avenue last Monday with wounds, where it was pronounced dead the next day.
The vet believed its injuries were unusual and suspected it was being abused. They informed the police at 2.21 pm today (Tues), a week after the dog's death.
Officers are tracking down the owner of the deceased Maltese for further investigation. No arrest had been made so far.
The incident follows the shocking case involving a Yorkshire Terrier that passed away last night after suffering from a skull fracture and brain injuries. The police have not made any arrests involving the case.
