Starting March 14, all elderly people must have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine before being admitted to care homes in the city as part of the “vaccine pass” extension.
The Social Welfare Department updated the arrangement on Friday and added that only those who have obtained a
Covid-19 Vaccination Medical Exemption Certificate issued by doctors would be exempted.
Elderly people are also required to complete the
Covid-19 vaccination within eight weeks after receiving the first dose in order to be eligible for their stay in care homes.
The government urged residents of the care homes to received vaccination as soon as possible and said they would be placed under serious threat if they are infected with
Covid-19.
Meanwhile, the department appealed to operators and managers all care homes across the city to comply with the “
vaccine pass” requirements when they enter into admission agreements with the new residents.
