Vaccination centers in Kwai Chung, Tsing Yi, and Kwun Tong to close after Feb

The SAR government announced on Friday that three community vaccination centers in the city will be closed after February, as the vaccination program enters a new phase and will take public and private medical facilities as prime vaccination venues under the new mode of operation.
Community Vaccination Centres located at the Osman Ramju Sadick Memorial Sports Centre, the MTR Tsing Yi Station and the Millennium City 5 will operate until noon on February 28 and be closed afterwards, according to the government statement.

Vaccination service of the pediatric and toddler formulations of the BioNTech vaccines at the Children Community Vaccination Centre of the Osman Ramju Sadick Memorial Sports Centre will be provided by Yan Chai Hospital Covid-19 Vaccination Station starting from March 1.

The city’s civil service chief Ingrid Yeung Ho Poi-yan said over 20.67 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered for members of the public under the Covid-19 Vaccination Programme and the government is very grateful to the public's support for the program, allowing the city to keep progressing along the path to normalcy steadily thanks to the high vaccination rates.

She noted that the vaccination rates for the second and third doses across the territory are 93 percent and 84 percent respectively, which is a result of the joint efforts of every member of the public who took part in the program.

Yeung also said the vaccination centers located at sports centers will be returned to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department for public use following their closure.

“Other vaccination venues including Community Vaccination Stations, Private Clinic Covid-19 Vaccination Stations, Covid-19 Vaccination Stations in public hospitals, designated general outpatient clinics of the Hospital Authority, Elderly Health Centres, Maternal and Child Health Centres and Student Health Service Centres of the Department of Health, together with some 1,000 private doctors providing Covid-19 vaccination service, will continue to provide vaccination service for Hong Kong residents,” she added.

Meanwhile, starting from March 1, all Community Vaccination Stations, Covid-19 Vaccination Stations in public hospitals and Children Community Vaccination Centres will have the same opening hours from 10am to 6pm on their operation days.
