UST student arrested over scuffle at forum in 2019
The University of Science and Technology on Monday confirmed that one of its own has been arrested in connection with scuffles during a forum with the university's president Shyy Wei last year.
The confirmation came after its students' union announced that officers arrested a local student from the university on Monday morning.
The university said it was earlier asked by law enforcement to provide information related to the incident on November 6, after someone made a report to the police.
Scuffles broke out between local and mainland students during the forum discussing the fall of 22-year-old Alex Chow during a protest dispersal operation by the police.
