Hong Kong's latest unemployment rate dipped to 4.1 percent, thanks to improvement in the construction sector.
According to the Census and Statistics Department, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased from 4.3 percent for the three months from August to October to 4.1 percent between September and November. It has decreased for the ninth consecutive month.
The underemployment rate also decreased from 1.9 percent in the August to October period to 1.8 percent in the three months to November.
For the unemployment rate, more distinct decreases were observed in the construction sector as well as in the retail, accommodation, and food services sectors.
As for the underemployment rate, reductions were mainly seen in the food and beverage service activities and arts, entertainment, and recreation sectors.
The number of employed people grew by 6,800 in the latest period.
