Typhoon Talim Causes Flight Disruptions in Hong Kong, Cancellation and Delays Affect Thousands of Passengers
At least 22 flights have been cancelled or delayed due to the impact of Typhoon Talim in Hong Kong.
The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) stated that 16 flights were cancelled and six flights were delayed, mostly affecting those headed to the mainland, including Shanghai and Haikou.
The cancellation of flights has affected thousands of passengers, with an estimated 2,000 passengers potentially impacted by Talim.
However, the Airport Express and Tung Chung lines are operating regularly, with departures every 10 minutes, and shuttle bus services to and from Tung Chung are also available.
In response to the large number of tourists who arrived early at the airport due to the typhoon, the AAHK has increased staffing to handle the situation.
A mainland tourist named Zhou, who was scheduled to leave at 4 pm, arrived at 9 am, while another tourist named Chan had to pay an additional HK$200 for a taxi ride to the airport due to the weather conditions.
Despite the inconvenience caused by the typhoon, some tourists like Tang were relieved to receive confirmation that their flight would be on time.
The typhoon has caused disruptions to travel plans for many people in Hong Kong, and the AAHK continues to monitor the situation to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.
