Two workers trapped in cleaning gondola at Standard Chartered Bank Building rescued
Two workers were trapped mid-air at the Standard Chartered Bank Building on Thursday after a cleaning gondola they were in got stuck on the 39th floor.
The workers were conducting cleaning work on the exterior of the building on Des Voeux Road Central at around 11 am when the gondola malfunctioned, leaving the two stranded in mid-air.
The Fire Services Department dispatched a rescue team to the scene after receiving the report. The duo was later rescued and brought to safety.
The two were uninjured and did not require hospitalization.
Police were still looking into the cause of the incident.
