Two more job-hunting scam victims returns to Hong Kong
Two more Hongkongers who fell victim to job-hunting scams in southeast Asian countries have returned to the SAR safe and sound, according to the Security Bureau.
The bureau said the two earlier sought help from the Immigration Department and successfully came back to Hong Kong from Cambodia and Myanmar with the assistance of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong, the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the bureau’s special task force.
So far, a total of 21 Hongkongers have safely returned to the city under the task force’s coordination, according to a spokesman.
The spokesman also appealed to citizens concerned about their missing relatives to contact the department as soon as possible.
They can make use of the WhatsApp hotline 5190 8909, call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the ImmD at (852) 1868, call the 1868 hotline by network data call via the ImmD mobile application, or submit an Online Assistance Request Form.
