Hong Kong reported two imported Covid-19 cases today, involving a fully vaccinated man from Romania and a 7-month-old baby from Russia.
The Centre for Health Protection said the fully vaccinated man, aged 39 years, arrived in Hong Kong from Romania on flight QR818 on Saturday.
He was asymptomatic and had received both doses of the
BioNTech vaccine on April 15 and May 6 respectively. He also tested positive for antibodies on July 12.
Meanwhile, the 7-month-old baby returned to the city from Russia on flight QR818 on Thursday. The baby girl was found carrying the L452R mutant strain of the
coronavirus.
Hong Kong’s
Covid tally now stands at 12,016, along with 212 related deaths.
A total of 35 cases have been reported in the past 14 days between July 26 to August 8, including a local case with unknown sources and 34 imported cases.
