Two more designated quarantine hotels (DQHs) will start accepting room bookings and commence service from mid July. They are expected to provide about 1500 additional rooms.
The two additional DQHs are Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong and Tsuen Wan Panda Hotel.
Renaissance Harbour View Hotel will be accepting room bookings starting from Wednesday (July 13); while the Panda Hotel will commence service from July 25 and start accepting bookings from next Tuesday (July 19).
In reaction to the epidemic development to meet the needs, two of the eighth-cycle DQHs including the Bay Bridge Lifestyle Retreat in Tsuen Wan and Prince Hotel Hong Kong will commence service from July 15 and July 25 respectively. Both of them will accept room bookings starting from this Wednesday.
"The government is still conducting assessments on other hotels applying for joining this cycle of the Scheme. Further announcements will be made when relevant work is completed," a spokesman said.
The new cycle of the Scheme will run from August 1 to October 31. The 67 hotels will provide about 25,500 rooms.
