Government raided a building in Sheung Wan on compulsory testing notice, in which 20 persons who didn't undergo testing were found HK$5,000.
The government completed an enforcement operation that was earlier included in a compulsory testing notice this morning at Centre Point in Sheung Wan, having issued fixed penalties of HK$5,000 to 20 persons that violated the notice.
The operation was conducted by The Central and Western District Office together with the Central District of the Hong Kong Police Force, the Department of Health, and the Auxiliary Medical Service from about 7am to around 10.30am today.
Persons subject to compulsory testing of Centre Point on Staunton Street in Sheung Wan, were required to provide the results of
Covid-19 tests within the specified period issued by the Government earlier on approved by SMS notification received through a mobile phone or related certification.
Staff was arranged to check the testing certification of those subject to compulsory testing at the entrance and exits of the building to verify whether these persons had undergone testing in compliance with the requirement.
During the operation, records of around 90 persons were checked, and among them 20 were in breach of the compulsory testing notice and were imposed a fixed penalty of HK$5,000 and issued compulsory testing orders.
Non-compliance with a compulsory testing order is seen as an offense by the government and is liable to a fine of HK$25,000 and six-month imprisonment, the government reminded the public.
