A 17-year-old teenager was on Thursday night arrested by customs after officers seized about HK$1.2 million worth of drugs in his bag and at his home in Tsuen Wan.
Officers during the anti-narcotics operation last night first intercepted the man and found about 1,000 grams of suspected ketamine in a travel bag carried by him.
After officers arrested the man, they then escorted him to his home in Tsuen Wan and further seized about 500 grams of suspected ketamine, about 200 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and a batch of drug packaging paraphernalia.
Customs said the investigation is still ongoing.
Customs also warned the public that trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offense under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of HK$5 million and life imprisonment.
Officers also urged citizens to report any suspected drug trafficking activities to Customs' 24-hour hotline 2545 6182 or its dedicated email address at crimereport@customs.gov.hk.
