Tsim Sha Tsui kitchen worker cuts off three fingers in blender accident
The Labour Department is investigating an accident at a Tsim Sha Tsui restaurant in which a 54-year-old kitchen worker got three of his fingers cut off after his hand became stuck in a blender.
The 54-year-old worker Mak was said to be operating the blender in the restaurant at The ONE shopping mall on Nathan Road when the accident happened at about 8.51am.
His colleagues helped stem the bleeding and called an ambulance. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital along with the amputated fingers, which were wrapped in ice.
It is understood that Mak will undergo surgery in an attempt to reattach his fingers.
