Truck hits sedan in Queen’s Road East, three injured
Police are investigating a car accident in Queen's Road East on Wednesday afternoon in which a goods truck crashed into a private sedan, causing three people to be injured.
It was learned that a black private car was traveling along Wong Nai Chung Road from Happy Valley to Wanchai when the accident occurred at around 12.30pm. A white goods truck attempted to turn right when approaching Canal Road Flyover to Queen’s Road East but suddenly crashed into the private car.
The sedan was severely damaged on its front, and the male driver, Chan, was trapped inside.
Police sent Chan, who sustained an injury to his feet, a 59-year-old female passenger in the car surnamed Tsui, and the 67-year-old truck driver surnamed Lau to the hospital.
Due to the accident, a lane of Gloucester Road (Happy Valley bound) near Sino Plaza was closed to all traffic for two hours until 3 pm today.
The cause of the accident is under further investigation.
