Tropical cyclone to develop, thunderstorms from July 1 onwards
Showers and thunderstorms are expected in Hong Kong from July 1 onwards as a tropical cyclone is expected to develop over the South China Sea in the middle of this week.
The Hong Kong Observatory said despite the intensity and movement of the possible tropical cyclone remains uncertain, the weather over the coast of southern China will deteriorate gradually in the latter part of this week under the influence of its associated outer rainbands. Winds will strengthen gradually and there will be squally showers and thunderstorms.
The weather will be fine and very hot on Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 33 degrees. A few showers and sunny intervals have been forecast on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the weather watchdog’s forecast said the city would see showers and thunderstorms from July 1 to 6, and the temperatures will range from 26 to 31 degrees.
