Tickets for Wan Chai Gourmet Marketplace to be distributed tomorrow morning
Tickets for the city’s first-ever Gourmet Marketplace held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai on Saturday will be distributed at the Home Affairs Enquiry Centres across 18 districts starting at 8 am Wednesday.
The Gourmet Marketplace was introduced under the "Happy Hong Kong" Campaign announced in the budget by Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po to drive consumption in the city.
Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak Mei-kuen said the Wan Chai event would be free of charge, but a ticketing system will be in place to manage the flow of attendees.
Members of the public can obtain the tickets from the Home Affairs Enquiry Centres across 18 districts starting at 8 am tomorrow morning, with each person limited to two tickets.
Tickets would also be distributed on-site on the day of the event on a first-come, first-serve basis, Mak added.
The home affairs chief said catering sector lawmaker Tommy Cheung Yu-yan and youth groups had invited organizations and businesses to set up stalls at the event, with the event set to drive up consumption in the district.
