Three sent to hospital after attack at Yuen Long noodle restaurant
Blood was spilled at a Yuen Long restaurant Saturday morning as six youngsters were attacked by six masked men wielding knives and sticks when having breakfast. Three men, including one who sustained a 20cm-long slash to his chest, were admitted to the hospital in a conscious state.
The attack occurred at 7.14am Saturday at Wing Shun Restaurant, famous for its satay beef noodles, located on On Ning Road in Yuen Long.
Five men and a woman aged 16 to 22 headed to the restaurant for breakfast after having spent the night at a bar nearby. However, six masked men wielding knives and sticks stormed into the restaurant and attacked the six youngsters.
The scene became a mess, with glasses and dishes shattered and scattered on the ground while other diners fled for their lives.
The attackers headed towards the direction of Yuen Long town center following the attack, the ground stained with blood.
The female staffer immediately reported to the police as she saw the two groups brawling in the restaurant. Officers soon rushed to the scene and found three youngsters injured.
A 22-year-old man surnamed Chan sustained a 20cm-long bleeding wound near the right side of his chest, while another 17-year-old man surnamed Hui was bleeding from the head. A third 18-year-old man surnamed Shek sustained swelling injuries to his head and hands.
All three were admitted to Pok Oi Hospital in a conscious state.
The case is now handled by the Yuen Long district crime squad.
Live sources said that Chan was a member of a triad society, and the six youngsters were having a birthday celebration at an upstairs bar in a nearby building. Sources added that Chan had earlier been involved in a quarrel with another person, who later angrily stormed off.
