The Security Bureau said on Thursday that three more Hong Kong residents who had sought help from the Immigration Department have safely returned to Hong Kong from Thailand.
A spokesman said they returned with the assistance of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, the Security Bureau's dedicated task force and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok.
The spokesman also noted that since the establishment of the Security Bureau's dedicated task force, a total of four assistance seekers have returned to Hong Kong safely under the task force's co-ordination.
Commenting on their return to the city, they all thanked the country and the SAR government for their assistance which secured their prompt and safe return.
The bureau appealed to Hong Kong residents or their family members concerned about missing relatives to contact the Immigration Department as soon as possible.?
Meanwhile, two more cases involving Hongkongers being held against their will have been reported yesterday. As of Thursday, there have been requests for assistance from 41 Hongkongers in total.
