Three buildings in Kowloon Tong, Tin Hau and North Point locked down

Rock View Gardens at Yau Yat Tsuen in Kowloon Tong, Serene Court in Tun Hau Temple Road in Tun Hau and Block 15 of Provident Center in North Point were locked down on Wednesday night after three preliminary positive cases were detected there.
The lockdown in Tin Hau, Kowloon Tong and North Point are expected to be lifted between 6.30am to 7.30am on Thursday (Jan 6).

Residents of the two residential blocks in Kowloon Tong and Tin Hau are required to undergo compulsory testing by 12am Thursday. As for residents at Block 15 of Provident Center in North Point, they should undergo compulsory testing by 2am Thursday.

Vaccinated citizens are required to undergo testing as well. Only those who had tested negative between Monday and today (Thursday) could be exempted from undergoing the test again.

Citizens who had been to these three buildings between December 16, 2021 and today must undergo compulsory testing as well, on or before Friday (Jan 7).

The Kowloon Tong building was locked down after a 62-year-old woman who once dined at Moon Palace in Festival Walk was reported as a preliminary positive case.

She was seated near the 34-year-old construction worker, who was seated about 10 meters away from the 44-year-old Cathay Pacific aircrew member.

Health authorities successfully contacted her on Monday and sent her to the quarantine center the next day. She tested negative on December 29, 2021, and visited St. Francis of Assisi Church in Sham Shui Po on New Year's Day and Sunday (Jan 2).

She also went hiking in Po Lam and dined at Victoria Harbour Restaurant in MCP ONE in Tseung Kwan O on Sunday as well.

Meanwhile, the Tin Hau building was locked down because of a preliminary positive case involving a 59-year-old woman, who is the friend of a Cathay flight attendant's mother. The mother was earlier confirmed with Covid-19.

The woman and the mother ate with a third friend, aged 62, at Six Garden Restaurant in Tin Hau in the morning on December 31, 2021.

The mother was believed to have infected a surveyor in Tuen Mun who ate in the same restaurant and was listed Hong Kong's first unknown source case.

The 62-year-old woman and her husband lives at Block 15 of Provident Center. They were sent to the quarantine center and both tested preliminary positive there, triggering the lockdown in North Point.
