Three women aged 56 to 71, suspected to be the “middlemen” referring citizens to get the suspected fraudulent Covid-19 jab exemptions, were on Friday arrested by police for conspiracy to defraud.
All three are remanded in custody after being captured by police's West Kowloon regional crime squad in Tai Po, Sau Mau Ping and on North Lantau Island.
It was understood that the trio opened a group on WhatsApp and referred citizens to collect the suspected fraudulent
Covid vaccine exemptions from Tai Kong-shing, one of the seven doctors arrested for “selling” the exemptions.
The three would get paid HK$300 for each patient “referred” to Tai.
It was estimated that the three had referred over 500 citizens to collect the exemptions from Tai.
So far, police have arrested 42 people in this
Covid jab exemptions controversy, including doctors, staff members of clinics, and citizens.
