Thirty three teenagers arrested in summer holiday bust, including 10-y-o
Tuen Mun police have arrested 33 teenagers in an operation to combat crimes during summer holiday, with a 10-year-old being one of those netted.
The 19 boys and 14 girls, aged from 10 to 20, were arrested for common assault, criminal intimidation, criminal damage or even drug trafficking.
The youngest among them was a 10-year-old kid who allegedly cheated money from the Apple wallet of his friend's father.
He convinced his friend and obtain the father's account, which he used to buy game vouchers.
The father filed a report to the police after learning about the incident. Investigation is still ongoing.
In another case, eight teenagers were arrested after bullying a 13-year-old girl, who had an argument with her 16-year-old boyfriend.
The eight were friends of the 16-year-old boy, and they asked the girl to go to a shopping mall at Yau Oi Estate, where they assaulted and intimidated her.
As for the others, two hoped to make quick cash were arrested for trafficking in dangerous drugs. They hid the drugs at home and delivered it to other dealers after receiving calls from masterminds.
Officers in the operation seized 29.1g of suspected cocaine and 48.03g of suspected cannabis buds.
Police called upon parents to pay more attention to the kids and to report to schools or police when finding anything suspicious or strange.
