Thirty in Tseung Kwan O fined HK$5,000 for violating social distancing laws
Authorities issued 30 social distancing fines, each carrying a penalty of HK$5,000, while patrolling public areas in Tseung Kwan O between May 6 to 13.
Officers patrolled places including Kin Ming Estate, Choi Ming Court, and King Lam Estate in the area during the police operation.
The force said 29 men and a woman, aged between 38 to 82, were dished fixed penalty tickets of HK$5,000 for gathering in groups larger than four people, in violation of the social distancing laws.
The force also reminds members of the public to maintain social distancing in public areas and avoid public gatherings in groups larger than four, to minimize the risk of spreading the coronavirus among our community.
