The Wai Mall Opens Its Doors in Tai Wai with a Soft Launch and Impressive Lineup of Retailers
The brand new The Wai mall in Tai Wai has recently opened its doors to the public, much to the excitement of cinema fans and bargain hunters alike.
The mall had a soft opening on Saturday and has already drawn in big crowds, causing long queues to form at the MTR station and at the mall's entrance.
The four-story mall, which is located on top of the Tai Wai MTR station and houses around 150 merchants in 650,000 square feet, is the only large mall in the district.
The mall is set to officially open in the fourth quarter, and it will be connected to Tai Wai station by a new footbridge.
The Wai mall boasts an impressive lineup of retailers, including the first-ever cinema in Tai Wai, Emperor Cinemas Plus+, as well as the first branch of the 98-year-old Japanese udon restaurant Yamatoya, the first Nintendo official store, and the largest supermarket in Hong Kong, Market Place.
In addition to its impressive range of retailers, The Wai mall also offers a large bicycle parking lot with 330 spaces, as well as a two-story open-air pet park.
The pet park includes toilets for pets and garbage bins for collecting feces, making it a convenient spot for animal lovers to take a break from shopping.
The mall has received positive feedback from Legislative Council member Peter Shiu Ka-fai, who represents the wholesale and retail sector.
He notes that the stores at The Wai are diversified and meet the public's needs.
With the opening of The Wai mall, residents of Tai Wai and surrounding areas now have another option for dining, shopping, and entertainment, besides Festival Walk.
The mall's diverse range of retailers and leisure facilities make it a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
