The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) has recently launched an online learning platform called "Learning English with Little Leaf," which provides primary school teachers and students with free resources such as videos, e-books, lesson plans, and worksheets.
The project was developed by the university's Department of English Language Education in collaboration with partner schools to create engaging materials for students to learn at school or at home.
The platform was piloted in five local primary schools, where the EdUHK academic team worked closely with local teachers to gather feedback for enhancement.
Today's release includes six units of content, each covering a topic from the Education Bureau's primary English curriculum.
The topics are taught through the lives and experiences of Leo the Little Leaf and his sister Lina.
Two of the units focus on ‘Our New Neighbourhood’ and ‘Life Before and During
Covid.’ The platform is designed to support primary school teachers in their English language teaching practices and provide students with interactive and engaging learning experiences.
The resources are available for free and can be accessed by anyone interested in learning English.
In a statement, Dr. Chung-Wing Fu, the Director of English Language Education at EdUHK, said, "We are delighted to be able to offer these resources to primary school teachers and students.
Our goal is to support English language learning in a fun and engaging way and to help students develop the skills they need to succeed."
