The Center for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department in Hong Kong collected 67 rice dumpling samples during a food surveillance project and all of them passed quality checks for coloring matters, preservatives, metallic contamination, pesticide residues, and bacteria such as Salmonella
The CFS will continue to monitor rice dumplings in the second phase of the project.
Rice dumplings are a popular festive food for the Tuen Ng Festival.
