Live sources said the woman surnamed Leung works in the information technology sector, and she stores the hefty sum of cash in a suitcase because she doesn't like the bank keeping her savings.

The report was filed by Leung around 4am Saturday as she returned home and found all her savings missing.

Police officers arrived at the scene and inspected the doors and windows but didn't find any sign of forced entry. The case was listed as theft and handled by the Central district crime investigation team.

Around 11.30am this morning, eight officers headed back to the flat on Cough Street and searched for security camera footage nearby.

Investigations are ongoing.
