Three cyclists were involved in separate accidents on Lantau Island and Tai Po yesterday, with two killed and a third in a coma.
A 60-year-old cyclist died after a coach ran him over near Yam O Wan, Lantau. The cyclist, Fu, died in North Lantau Hospital at 12.24pm yesterday after sustaining head injuries.
Police are appealing to eyewitnesses to contact the investigating officers at 3661 1300 or 3661 1346. Two other accidents involving bikes happened within the space of 40 minutes in Tai Po yesterday.
Around 6pm, a man in his 30s or 40s died after he was thrown off his bike when he went down a slope near Tai Po East Fire Station on Ting Kok Road.
He was certified dead in Sha Tin's Prince of Wales Hospital after falling into a coma.
Earlier at 5.12pm, an 18-year-old male cyclist had fallen into a coma after he fell off his bike when reaching Dai King Street.
He was rushed to the same hospital after sustaining critical head injuries.
