Son arrested after driving father's Porsche without a license
An 18-year-old man was arrested in Ngau Tau Kok on Friday night after he was caught by police driving a black Porsche without a driving license.
Police from the Kowloon East traffic unit were patrolling on Fuk To Street near Ngau Tau Kok Road around 10pm last night when they spotted a Porsche private car being driven weirdly and intercepted the vehicle.
After investigation, officers found that the 18-year-old driver surnamed Ip didn't have a driving license at all, and he took the vehicle without the authorization of the car owner. Officers then arrested him for taking a vehicle without authority, driving without a license, and driving without third-party insurance.
He has been remanded for questioning, and the case is now handled by the Sau Mau Ping district crime investigation team.
It was understood that the Porsche private car belonged to Ip's father. Ip suspectedly sneaked behind his father and took the car for a ride without him knowing. Yet, he was caught red-handed by police during his "test drive."
