The Immigration Department announced on Friday that residents born in those years can apply for the new ID card in person at a smart identity card replacement center between November 19 and January 18.

Eligible applicants may make appointment bookings via the internet (www.gov.hk/newicbooking), the department's mobile application or the 24-hour telephone booking hotline 2121-1234.

For residents born in 1977, 1978 or 1979, their period for ID card replacement will end on November 18.

Eligible Hong Kong residents who are absent from Hong Kong during their call-up period can apply within 30 days upon their return to Hong Kong.
