Pedestrians reported to police at 6.52pm on Monday after finding the 26-year-old lying outside King Mei House in Shan King Estate, suspecting Wong fell off the building through the stairs.

Officers then list the case as dead body found. It was understood that there was no suicide note at the scene and police believed Wong had money troubles after investigation.

Sham Shui Po FC confirmed the bad news in a statement issued on Facebook midnight, and said: “Everyone in the club is deeply saddened by the heart-breaking news.”

Wong rose from the youth academy of Eastern Sports Club and had played for many professional football clubs in the city including Eastern Long Lions, BC Rangers, Sun Hei, Lee Man and Wong Tai Sin.

Wong played over 100 games at the city's top-tier football league and scored 16 goals throughout his short career. He also represented Hong Kong in the Hong Kong Macau Interport in 2014 and 2016.

Wong married his girlfriend in March last year and the couple had a baby boy five months later in August.

He had another logistic job and started playing for Shui Shui Po in the first division league this season in hope of returning to professional football and making money at the same time.

Just last Sunday, Wong played for Sham Shui Po in the away game against Eastern District at Tsing Yi Northeast Park as the club won 3-1.
