Some 3,489 traffic tickets have been handed out in Sha Tin as part of a clampdown on traffic offenses from August 23 to August 25.
The Sha Tin police force and the New Territories South Traffic Headquarters patrolled “traffic black spots” around Sha Tin, such as Sha Tin Centre Street, Tai Wai City Centre and Wu Kai Sha Public Transport Interchange.
They targeted illegal parking, double parking and jaywalking in an effort to reduce the risk of traffic obstruction and ensure pedestrians’ safety by strengthening their law-abiding awareness.
During the operation, a total of 3,489 tickets were handed out, most of which were related to illegal parking.
In addition, 17 summons were also served – ten for jaywalking, five for cycling on the pedestrian pavement and two for lacking proper licenses.
