A woman who is known to be murder suspect Alex Kwong Kong-chi’s friend has been arrested on the mainland in connection to the butchering of model Abby Choi Tin-fung.
The Hong Kong police received a female suspect from the mainland authorities at the Shenzhen Bay Port today. She was charged with one count of assisting an offender. The case will be mentioned at Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts on Thursday.
It was learned that the 29-year-old local woman, surnamed Pun, is a KOL and also a friend of the sixth arrestee who was suspected of trying to help an alleged murderer flee Hong Kong by sea. She once fled to the mainland after the case.
There are a number of pictures of her posing with celebrities on her social media account.
The arrest of Pun brought the total number of people allegedly involved in the case to seven. She was escorted back to her home by the police officers on Tuesday afternoon to collect evidence in connection with the case.
Including the woman, police have arrested seven people so far. The other six are Choi's ex-husband Alex Kwong Kong-chi, 28; former father-in-law Kwong Kau, 65; former mother-in-law Jenny Li Sui-heung, 63; former brother-in-law Anthony Kwong Kong-kit, 31; Kwong Kau's 47-year-old mistress surnamed Ng; and 41-year-old Lam Shun - a staffer of a yacht company, also a friend of Choi’s ex-husband Alex Kwong Kong-chi.
