Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Express will run seven additional flights so that local students can return to mainland and start school in time.
Flights run by Cathay include CX390 to Beijing this Saturday (Aug 27), CX924 to Wuhan next Tuesday (Aug 30), CX978 to Xiamen next Tuesday and on September 6, and CX958 to Hangzhou on September 12.
HK Express also offers two flights – HX216 to Nanjing next Monday (Aug 29) and HX112 to Hangzhou on September 6.
The two airlines said they will launch a priority passageway for students to book their flight tickets.
The additional flights came after the Education Bureau appealed to local students who need help returning to mainland to fill a form and submit relevant documents.
Students must fill out the form and upload the required papers at eform.one.gov.hk/form/edb040/tc/ before Friday (Aug 26).
