Serial burglar robs three convenience stores during Labour Holidays
A man was arrested after committing a serial burglary in Sham Shui Po on Sunday morning.
At 10.12 am, a man barged into a convenience store at Cheung Shan Wan Road and brandished a pair of scissors to threaten the employee before grabbing HK$1,500 in cash.
He fled by getting on a taxi and continued his streak by attempting to rob two more convenience stores on Tai Po Road and Yu Chau Street.
The male employee of the convenience store on Tai Po Road stated that the burglar, who looked to be around 40 to 50 years old, seemed to have some mental issues.
Police officers were alerted and headed to the stores for investigation, and they located the taxi driver carrying the burglar to record his statement.
It is understood that the burglar fled after attempting to rob the Yu Chau Street convenience store and was caught by officers near Kweilin Street.
He was arrested on suspicion of robbery and attempted robbery, his motive for the crime is pending investigation, and he remands under police custody.
