Hong Kong residents can expect scorching temperatures for the next nine days, with four days from Friday forecast to reach 35 degrees.
The Observatory said under the dominance of the subtropical ridge, the weather will be persistently very hot and fine over southern China this week to midweek next week. A southerly airstream will bring a few showers to the coast of Guangdong in the next couple of days.
The Observatory forecast that Wednesday and Thursday would be fine and very hot apart from isolated showers, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 34 degrees.
