School-wide full-day in-person classes set for Kwun Tong school
A Kwun Tong school is set to welcome all its students back for full-day in-person classes next month after authorities started to recognize students as fully vaccinated against Covid-19 after one BioNTech jab rather than two, making a 70 percent inoculation target easier to achieve.
Secondary six students of Delia Memorial School (Hip Wo) in Kwun Tong were the first in Hong Kong to attend the full-day classes at school on Monday, and they will soon be seeing all of their schoolmates returning to campus.
The principal of the Kwun Tong school, Lam Yim-ling, said around 76 percent of its students have received at least one Cvid jab.
“Everything is set for our school to apply for resuming the full-day in-person classes school-wide, pending approval from the school board,” said Lam.
She also said teachers have already started preparing for their return.
Lam, speaking on a radio program this morning, also said everything has been running smoothly since the secondary six students return to campus for full-day classes.
“Most of them chose to dine out instead of having lunch at school. If all students are going to return to campus next month, the school may arrange vendors to provide lunch at school for students of junior forms,” she added.
