Hong Kong's Olympic Legend Sarah Lee Wai-sze Announces Retirement from Professional Cycling
Sarah Lee Wai-sze, a world-renowned cyclist and Olympic medalist from Hong Kong, has announced her retirement from professional cycling.
She is the first local athlete to win medals at two Olympic Games, having won bronze in women's keirin at the 2012 London Games and the sprint event at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
Lee, 36, has been a professional cyclist for nearly two decades and has represented Hong Kong in the Olympic Games three times, winning five golds at the 2010, 2014, and 2018 Asian Games.
She has also won three gold medals in the 2013 and 2019 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
Lee expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Hongkongers, her coach, and the cycling team.
She will take up the coaching role of the Hong Kong Cycling Team in the future.
