The SAR government said on Friday that it attaches great importance to the threats received by its anti-epidemic advisers, adding that the matter has been followed up to ensure the advisors could execute their duty safely.
This came as a top Hong Kong microbiologist, Yuen Kwok-yung, wrote in a newspaper yesterday saying that he had been in life-threatening situations three times during his years fighting pandemics that hit the city.
The government also said it will not tolerate any attempts to influence the efforts of the experts by illegal means, adding that stringent follow-up action will be taken.
Meanwhile, the government said it is constantly reviewing the risk and monitoring the development of the
Covid-19 mutant strains to adopt measures accordingly. It will also act upon the World Health Organization's advice in adjusting the city’s Response Levels.
