Some 2,300 delegates were elected from 38 "electoral units," including the CCP Hong Kong work committee.

Except for delegates from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the list of all delegates from central government agencies and provinces has been disclosed.

Hong Kong delegates are elected by the CCP Hong Kong work committee - a local branch of the party - and most of the delegates come from the central government liaison office and large China-invested enterprises.

The list of Hong Kong delegates to the 19th party congress last year was not officially disclosed as well.

But the media later found out from the full list of delegates published by Beijing last year that there are around 10 Hong Kong delegates.

Among them were the former director of the liaison office and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office Zhang Xiaoming, liaison office deputy directors Huang Lanfa and Tan Tieniu, former deputy directors Yang Jianping and Qiu Hong and the director of its personnel department, Du Yedong.

Delegates from the business sector included the head of China National Travel Service Group Corp Zhang Xuewu, Bank of China Hong Kong chief executive Yue Yi, China Resources Group chairman Fu Yuning and China Merchants Group head Li Jianhong.

As for the 20th party congress this year, the head of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office's security affairs department Wang Zhenmin, was elected as a delegate by the central and state organizations electoral unit instead of representing Hong Kong.

The director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Xia Baolong, was elected by a Guangdong unit.
