Police received a report that a body was found trapped in between rocks on the shore of Sheung Sze Wan in Clear Water Bay, which officers believe to be the 58-year-old man Lam Wing-chung that went missing two days ago in Sai Kung.
According to reports, there was no obvious injury on the victim’s body and his cause of death has yet to be confirmed by an autopsy.
Police, firefighters and a government helicopter continue searching on Thursday morning for a man who went missing while hiking alone in Sai Kung.
Lam set off into Pak Tam Chung on Tuesday afternoon, but had failed to return home that night, according to his wife.
The search, involving Government Flying Service helicopters, police, and officers from the
Fire Services and Civil Aid Service, began on Wednesday noon after the man’s wife reported him missing at around 3am.
Police pinged the man’s phone after receiving reports from his family members, which showed the man’s last known position in Yuen Ng Fan near Chong Hing Water Sports Centre.
Over 100 rescuers continue the search this morning, fanning off from the entrance of Pak Tam Chung Picnic Garden.
