Royal Caribbean announced on Wednesday to cancel the remaining 2022 Hong Kong cruise-to-nowhere season, which included Spectrum of the Seas sailings on February 18, 21, 24, 26, 28, and March 4, 7, 10, 12, 14, 17.
The company said the cancelation came after Hong Kong extended
Covid-19 prevention measures and the uncertainty of the local situation.
Guests affected will receive a full refund of their cruise fare and any pre-cruise purchases, including taxes and fees, to the original form of payment within 30 working days.
Those booked through a travel agent could contact them directly for refund arrangements.
In addition, for affected guests holding unredeemed Future Cruise Credit, the validity will be automatically extended on Hong Kong sailings to the end of 2022, pending availability.
Affected guests who have unused Onboard Credit in their bookings could contact Royal Caribbean by February 23 at +852 3002 4636 or email at hkgdirectbk@rcclapac.com.
Royal Caribbean said it has cruised to destinations around the world, welcoming more than 1 million guests since it first set sail in December 2020. The cruise line remains committed to Hong Kong and will work with government officials to return.
