Korean actor Cha In-ha, 27, found dead – the third death, after those of singers Goo Hara and Sulli, to rock Korean entertainment industry in space of two months
Young actor, who only made his screen debut two years ago, appeared in recent TV drama Love With Flaws. In his final post to Instagram on Monday, he captioned a photo ‘Everyone, watch out’
Rookie South Korean actor Cha In-ha was found dead on Tuesday, the latest in a string of deaths to rock the Korean entertainment industry.
Police are investigating the 27 year-old’s death, and no details have been revealed.
Cha made his screen acting debut in 2017 in the short film You, Deep Inside of Me, and was a member of entertainment company Fantagio’s actor group Surprise U.
The actor’s last post to Instagram was captioned: “Everybody, watch out.”
“We are truly heartbroken to deliver sad news to everyone who has sent love and support to Cha In-ha until now. We are filled with grief at this news that is still hard to believe,” Fantagio said in a statement confirming the actor’s death. “We earnestly ask that rumours not be spread and speculative reports not be released in order for his family … to send him away peacefully.”
The actor was cast in new MBC television drama Love With Flaws, which stars Ahn Jae-hyun and Oh Yeon-seo.
Cha’s death is the third to hit the fiercely competitive Korean entertainment industry in two months, following the suspected suicides of K-pop stars Sulli, 25, and Goo Hara, 28.
