The entirety or chunks of five roads - including Expo Drive and those connecting to Central-Wan Chai Bypass in Wan Chai North - will be cordoned off from midnight tomorrow for the National Day flag-raising ceremony at Golden Bauhinia Square.
Some parts of the roads around Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will be closed off between 12.01am tomorrow until Saturday noon, the Transport Department said.
Other roads affected are Expo Drive Central and Expo Drive East.
Parts of Lung Wo Road eastbound and westbound between the Wan Chai portal of the Wan Chai Bypass tunnel and Fleming Road, and Convention Avenue westbound will also be closed from 5.30am until noon on National Day.
At least seven bus routes and their stops will be temporarily diverted or relocated. These are 961, 930, H1, 104, 900, 914P and 914X.
The flag-raising ceremony for the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China will be held at 8am on Saturday.
The department reminded people to pay attention to the latest traffic news and to avoid driving to Wan Chai North.
A huge contingent of police officers from the regional response contingent, the special tactical contingent, the counter-terrorism response unit, the railway response team and emergency unit will patrol "highly sensitive" areas.
